San Marcos is home to the Old California Restaurant Row with a concentration of 15 restaurants such as: Buffalo Wild Wings, Fish House Vera Cruz, Katsu (Sushi), 55 Yardline (sports bar), Landon’s, Old California Mining Co., Sublime Alehouse, 10-Twenty Prime and more, as well as an Edward’s 18 Movie Theater.

San Marcos has several golf courses including St. Mark’s golf club, located near Lake San Marcos.  The executive golf course is a 71 par course designed by Harry Rainville.

Lake San Marcos is located right next to San Marcos and is a large artificial pond that was created for recreational purposes.  The community called Lake San Marcos is a resort community featuring The Marina at Lakehouse Hotel & Resort.  At the marina you can rent boats to tour the lake, water trikes, kayaks, paddle boards and even fishing poles.  FYI, Lake San Marcos is not dog friendly.
